As an outsider artist, Daria Lahn has explored many types of media through which to express herself. The inspiration for many of her pieces has come from life experiences as well as from other artists. Although not a musician she is deeply moved by the lyrics, melodies and performances of her favorite indie rock bands. As a mother of she finds inspiration and frustration that drive her to create. She has been humbled by motherhood and is driven to keep going. Like many artists, she puts her heart and soul in her work. Daria hopes others who struggle can connect with her pieces. To feel like they are not alone, to find meaning or hope when the universe is telling them otherwise. She has a passion for giving objects (and people) a second, third and at times a fourth chance. She feels in this vast universe of ours there is a purpose for every object and person; one must keep trying to find that. She desires for all to find their niche; whatever that may be. Successes are just as valuable as failures; both serve a purpose in her life and she is grateful to have both in her life.
